Bedside Touch Lamp: Product was provided to me for this project; but, all thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting companies like Lamps Plus that help keep this blog up and going (and me DIYing!)
Bedside Touch Lamp: perfect for when your lamp is out of arm’s reach from your bed! So I have long arms; but, they are in no way long enough to turn out our bedside lamps from our beds! So instead of reading in the dark (yes, I have been doing that and just relying on my Kindle, #pregnantladyproblems) to avoid having to get out of bed to turn off the lights; now, I can just tap my bedside touch lamp button and it turns off!
And all it took was a five minute fix! Now there is no more arguing about who’s going to get out of bed to turn out the lights! I am kicking myself for not doing this sooner!

MATERIALS:
- 3 level touch pad dimmer3-level touch pad dimmer by amertac
- Command Strips medium velcro (2 per light)
- Scissors
- Lamps (c/o Lamps Plus) – (buy it here: Robert Abbey Delta Marine)
DIRECTIONS:
1.) First, you want to gather all of your materials. I used a total of four Command Strips (two for each lamp)
2.) Align the velcro strip on the back of the button, cutting off the excess with scissors; but, leaving the tail long enough so you can remove it when you want! Twist-tie the excess wire so there is no wire hanging around. Position the button where it is accessible from bed; but, not horribly visible from the front. By positioning mine near the back at bed level, I was able to keep it minimally visible while still convenient.
3.) Plug the lamp power cord into the touch sensor power cord.
4.) You are done! Turn it on and off as much as you want! *You want to use a dimmable lightbulb for use with the dimmer. We initially were using CFLs and switched them out for dimmable ones so they didn’t make any buzzing noises.
So now you have one fewer reason to hop out of bed…I can’t promise your kids or babies will sleep through the night; but, I can promise you won’t have to hop out of bed to turn out your light! #itsthelittlethings

And if you are looking for some “looks for less” I included them too! The Dazzling Blue Double Gourd ** is a ringer for a blue version of the gourd lamp, and so is Cayenne Double Gourd! Every night, it’s a game between my husband and I to see who can get in bed first and therefore claim they can’t possibly get back out to turn off the lights 😛 We need this easy touch option!!

I totally didn’t even notice that button! That’s a brilliant fix. I don’t even use my lamp anymore because of this very reason!

I need to do the touch lights because I always have to get out of bed to turn my light off, but my reach isn’t close enough to turn the lamp off 🙁
