Bathroom Cleaning Tips So It Takes Less Time: With three small little ones running around, our house may not always be perfectly tidy; but it is always clean–even the bathrooms! Follow these tips to create a bathroom cleaning routine that takes less time–perfect for busy moms! By implementing these tips, I’ve reduced the bathroom cleaning time required to clean our three full bathrooms to a manageable 30 minutes a week! It now takes less time to keep our house cleaner than before!
BATHROOM CLEANING TIPS
TIP #1: Minimize
Although we have three full bathrooms, we actually only use one shower and one tub. With three little ones, it’s just easier bathing them all together in our big tub at one time. This cuts down my workload to washing one tub, one shower, and three toilets (and one kid potty) once a week! When we have guests, we obviously let them use the kids’ bathroom shower and tub; but, it’s not a regular occurrence, so I don’t need to clean it often.
Previously, I had to clean five toilets every week: we have three full bathrooms, and each bathroom had its own kiddie potty. You guys–those are potties just like any other potties and need to be cleaned just as regularly!
When we got our new Kohler Corbelle with the ContinuousClean toilet with the Transitions Toilet Seat, I was able to throw out one of our old children’s potties. The Transitions Toilet Seat is designed to fit both children and adults. It’s easy to keep clean and has a slow drop down so it won’t slam on little fingers. Plus, the built-in nightlight helps you find the toilet in the middle of the night.
The design is so unobtrusive, you don’t even notice that it has a child seat–it is just beautifully designed!
TIP #2: Simplify
In our bathrooms, we keep a small number of things out on the counter. You will find a hand soap dispenser, a tissue box, and occasionally flowers on the bathroom surfaces. I can easily wipe down all the counters in quickly because I don’t need to put a million things a way. Think about what you can put away, and how you can simplify your cleaning routine. You will find you spend more time tidying up than actually cleaning!
Do the same thing with your shower–do you really need two different types of shampoo? Do you need leg shaving cream? We have one bottle of conditioner, one shampoo, and one body wash in our shower and it makes it much easier to clean!
TIP #3: Design
When designing your bathroom. When considering new bathroom appliances, consider their design. Do they have lots of nooks and crannies that are difficult to clean and keep clean? Are there hard corners you can’t possibly reach?
Our old toilet was horrible. It was difficult to clean and it drove me crazy! I could never get all the nooks and crannies clean, and I found that the inside of the toilet bowl harbored mildew and bacteria. I would have to clean the toilet bowl every four to five days to avoid it looking dirty. Seriously, whenever we were having company over, I would run into the bathroom and make sure there wasn’t mildew build-up in the toilet. It was gross.
See all those little columns below on the base of the toilet–they were constantly collecting dust and driving me up the wall! So over one weekend, my husband and I installed our new toilet, a Kohler Corbelle with ContinuousClean, and it is amazing! Its sleek skirted design is easy to wipe down and the toilet bowl is actually self-cleaning!
Tip #4: Get Smarter
With our new Corbelle Toilet, the ContinuousClean technology automatically fights germs. The factory-installed system is so easy to use. It dispenses a dosage of cleaner during each flush, which you can adjust according to your preferences.
You can insert any puck-like tablet into the toilet tank holder, and the toilet automatically dispenses the proper dosage. This has dramatically cut down the time required to clean the toilet–I barely ever have to clean it now! With every flush, it is fighting germs, mildew, and grime!
The flushing mechanism is also completely different than conventional toilets, the Corbelle toilet has Revolution 360 technology, a swirl flushing technology that sends 360 degrees of water through the toilet bowl, flushing everything and not leaving anything behind! This keeps the toilet cleaner five times longer!
Even the toilet bowl works against grime–it’s coated with CleanCoat Surface technology which prevents mineral deposits, mildew, and bacteria from sticking!
Installation was really easy with the ReadyLock™system which saved us time because we didn’t have to drill holes like traditional skirted toilets. This was an easy weekend project!
Think about places in your bathroom where you can employ smart technology:
- Are your kids constantly spilling soap? Invest in a touchless soap dispenser!
- Are towels constantly on the floor in your bathroom? Switch out old heavy towels with light Turkish towels or microfiber towels that air-dry quickly and prohibit the build-up of bacteria.
- Are you constantly running out of toilet paper? Make a dedicated place for stashing extra rolls of toilet paper (whether it’s in a basket next to your toilet, in a medicine cabinet, or a large vanity). Put several rolls there and replenish it as needed.
ACTIONABLE BATHROOM CLEANING TIPS
By implementing these four tips into our bathroom cleaning routine, I’ve been able to dramatically reduce the amount of time I spend cleaning to 10 minutes per bathroom once a week!
- Minimize
- Simplify
- Design
- Get Smarter
If you want time back in your day (who doesn’t?) try to think about these four things in regards to cleaning your bathroom. How can you make it more efficient?
