Affordable Headboards: Sometimes it is actually cheaper to buy a headboard than it is to DIY one.
Making a quality DIY Headboard is budget-friendly when you consider custom options with patterned fabric; but, if you are looking for a neutral affordable headboard for your home, you are most likely better off buying one. Some of them are even under $100, which is less than the price of plywood and foam!

We bought the bed frame and headboard in our guest bedroom for $300, and man, it was worth every penny! If I had to DIY it, it would have cost way more than $300 (see similar bedframe with headboard here and it would have taken forever!
But as far as the rest of the house, if you are a regular reader, you already know that we have DIYed most of the headboards. That’s because I love patterns, and instead of handing over a hefty amount of cash for a custom headboard with custom fabric, I’d rather do it myself.
We built a DIY headboard for my daughter’s room, for our nursery, and for our master bedroom. And heck, I even made a free DIY Headboard Cheat Sheet if you want to build your own! Realistically, it will cost you between $100-$200 to make your own between paying for plywood, fabric, batting, and foam.

But, if you want to make it easy and save some money with an affordable headboard, then you need to see the headboards below! I couldn’t believe the prices on some of them–I mean a headboard for $93! That is crazy! These are my absolute favorite ones, and with their neutral colors they would look good with any type of bedding!

All of these affordable headboards take the cake when it comes to saving money and the time it would take DIYing your own. Sometimes, it is cheaper to buy than DIY, and heck, your husband will enjoy having the weekend off DIYing–I know my husband would!
